Please Note: Please only attend the Surgery if you have an appointment. Unfortunately our telephone lines are extremely busy and staff are answering as quick as they can. If you feel your issue is urgent and cannot wait until you can get through, please call 111. For minor illness or injury, please attend a walk in centre. Covid vaccination status is only available by using the NHS app (see below link) or calling 119 - staff can not give you this information.

Coronavirus Update

PLEASE NOTE: All GP appointments are telephone consultations. If the GP wishes to see a patient they will invite them to attend the Surgery following a telephone consultation.   Nursing appointments are available.

If you need to attend the surgery, you must now wear a face covering (over 5 years only). This can be as simple as a scarf or bandana covering your mouth and nose. Information on face coverings is available on the below link.

Please do not come to the Surgery if you have a high temperature, a new continuous cough, flu like symptoms or loss of taste or smell.

The practice closes every Wednesday lunch time from 12:30 - 13:30 for staff development.

scope_apple_heartHow To Consult A Doctor

You can consult the GP using our E-consult service on the front page of our website. You will receive a reply by 6 pm the following day.

Telephone 0191 2741840 or call at the surgery from 8 am to make an appointment for that day or up to 4 weeks ahead.

We will try to give you the doctor of your choice but this may not always be possible. If your problem is URGENT the emergency doctor can discuss it with you on the day by telephone or in person.

Extended Hours

Additional pre-book appointments are available one Saturday morning per month, and every Tuesday morning (before 8 am appointments: pre-book only; ask Reception for details). We are closed for training one afternoon per month.

GP Training

The practice is committed to the training of students of medicine and nursing. You may be asked if a student or GP registrar may sit in on your consultation.

Appointment Booking with Patient Access

We are now offering a number of pre-bookable appointments with all of our GP's.  Appointments are also available from 8am each morning for ON THE DAY appointments.

Please ask the reception team for further details
