Test results

Test results will be given by a receptionist, at the doctor's discretion, to save you having to make an appointment. Results can normally only be given to the patient or a parent (if the patient is under 16 years of age).

Please note that any sample requested by the doctor or nurse should be labelled with your name, date of birth and the date of the sample. It is also important to submit the sample as early as possible in the day. Although some types of sample can be kept at the practice overnight, many tests need to be sent to the hospital labs the same day. The last collection from the practice is usually around 1.30 pm.
