Patients Charter

In keeping with the Patients Charter set out by the government, we set out to provide services which include the following features:

  • An appointment with any doctor at the surgery, subject to availability.
  • Immediate attention in case of an emergency.
  • In the case of an urgent problem, an appointment on the same day.
  • You will be informed of any unavoidable delays which may occur during consultation time.
  • You will be treated with courtesy and efficiency at the reception and over the telephone by a named member of staff, who will respect your privacy and dignity.
  • A clean and comfortable waiting area.
  • Waiting times to be kept to a minimum.
  • You will be asked if a student may attend your consultation, but you will always have the right to refuse.
  • A female chaperone will be available on request.
  • Full antenatal care will be provided by a named midwife.
  • Test results will be given by a receptionist, at the doctor's discretion, to save you having to make an appointment. Results can normally only be given to the patient.
  • Repeat prescriptions will be ready within 2 working days.
  • A health check on registration.
  • A home visit will be available if you are unable to get to the surgery because of your illness.
  • A practice leaflet is available, on request, detailing all services available to patients.
  • Complete confidentiality your patient record.
  • Consultation with the practice manager with regard to your rights under the Health Records Act 1990.
  • Any comments, suggestions or complaints will be dealt with by the practice manager. They will be treated seriously and confidentially.
  • Easy access for the disabled.
